Who calls the employer or the employee after being hired; for first work schedule and when to start work?

Friday, October 24th, 2008
kickball asked:

I am hired already part-time at clothing retail store in a shopping strip. Does one call their employer for their work schedule? Or will they call me to inform them when I start working? And how long should one wait before calling the employer?

This is a second post (copy) because the first people couldn’t read as they didn’t answer the question.

I’m turning 16 soon and i’m looking for a summer job dealing with cars. Maybe working at a dealer or something here in califronia or at a shop that works on the newest cars. I love working with vehicles and I also heard that working for retail is a pain. Any suggestions for a summer job dealing with cars?

How to get hold of a replica African Cup of Nations Ball - the beautiful ‘Wawa Aba’?

Thursday, October 9th, 2008
rasputinsdayoff asked:

I don’t know if they sell them in the likes of JJB but I know just the replica balls are selling for over £40 on ebay, which for me is too much considering that the same type of ball usually retails for about £12.
The colours are too jazzy to not have one.
I’d even consider buying wholesale to sell a few on.
But if anyone knows a website or shop that does ‘em - well that would be just grand.

I’m looking at Salehoo & trying to find other wholesale sites worth registering my business with. Any ideas?

I run a pearl jewelry business that sells retail through my website (www.sunandmoonpearls.com) and wholesale to bridal and high-end gift shops. To continue expanding I’m also looking into online wholesale site directories like Salehoo… any feedback about Salehoo or any other sites you know of would be helpful. Thanks!

Could anyone explain this reoccuring dream?

Saturday, October 4th, 2008
Jason asked:

In this dream, I am standing in the parking lot of a local shopping center while everything is black and white. Then all of a sudden, acorns fall from the sky, and a sesame street or muppet looking character is on top of the retail buildings like commanding something to everyone. I’ve always taken it that that character is demonic or something.

Thinking about opening a Grooming Salon / doggie day care?

Saturday, October 4th, 2008
StaceyLynn asked:

I have worked with animals for many years in wildlife rehabilitation / veterinary clinics / pet resorts, and I am a certified groomer. (Long story short) My sister-in-law may be moving here with her husband and we are both starting families. We have been kicking around the idea of starting a grooming shop that has group day care for little dogs, and a small retail area.

Can anyone offer advice or suggestions on things I should know or be aware of before getting started?

Retail Theft?

Friday, October 3rd, 2008
summerflirts asked:

Soo.. my boyfriend was recently accused of trying to steal sandals at our local Ron Jons Surf Shop. He has to write a 500 word essay on “Retail theft in your community”. He’s working right now earning us some money, so I figured I would help get him started. I know that obviously when people steal, it causes the company to have to hire more security, ect. But I seriously don’t know how to start this, or what to include. Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
The weird thing is, I was there with him and we were still in the shoe department and he had the sandals on his feet. How is that stealing? We never left the store.
